Farm to Vessel - A Celebration of Seasonal Floral Arrangements

Join Gabriela Salazar for a one-day immersive on designing with local, seasonal flowers from GC Flower Collective.  

In this course, Gabriela will give instruction on how to create beautiful floral designs with an emphasis on seasonal flowers, all grown by local flower farms in the GC Flower Collective.

The GC Flower Collective grows unique flowers that celebrate the artistry of floral design, providing beauty and intention to every arrangement. As a farmer-led collective, they are committed to growing and supplying high-quality flowers through sustainable and regenerative practices.

Gabriela is known for her romantic, lush floral design style. She attributes this effortless style to nature and growing her own flowers. While in the garden, she observes the contour of the plants and trees - taking note of their effortless movement and soft, graceful forms. She translates these garden observations into her floral design work. She teaches throughout the world, and is the author of *The Artistry of Flowers: Floral Design by La Musa de las Flores* from Rizzoli.

Workshop 10:00 am to 4:00 pm 

We will start the day with a guided tour of Puck’s Garden, a beautiful flower farm owned by Molly Picchi.

After the tour, Gabriela will demonstrate how to design an arrangement for a tablescape, focusing on using texture and movement to create an effortless composition.

Students will then experience the unique nature of locally grown, seasonal flowers by creating their own arrangements with direct instruction from Gabriela.

After lunch we will talk about photographing designs for your portfolio and social media with Eleanor Lonardo, a flower farmer and photography instructor, with a deep love of capturing flowers on film.
