Dahlias of the Heart Workshop
September 8–9, 2026
Valle de Bravo, Mexico
A Two-Day Immersive Floral Experience with Gabriela Salazar
For two days each autumn, during the peak of dahlia season, I open my private garden in Valle de Bravo to a small group of students from around the world.
This workshop is not simply about learning floral design techniques.
It is an invitation to slow down.
To spend two days immersed in a garden overflowing with dahlias. To observe nature closely. To understand flowers not as products, but as living forms filled with movement, personality, rhythm, and emotion.
Over the course of two days, we will design with dahlias in their peak season while exploring a more intuitive approach to floral artistry.
Together we will create bouquets, arrangements, and larger compositions, but the deeper work happens through observation.
As we walk through the garden, lessons in color, texture, composition, movement, scale, and harmony begin to reveal themselves naturally. The garden becomes our classroom and the flowers our teachers.
For me, designing has never been about following formulas. It is about developing a relationship with flowers and learning to trust what they reveal. Through direct experience in the garden, concepts that are often taught as technical rules begin to feel intuitive and alive.
This experience is designed for both professional florists and passionate beginners who feel drawn to flowers and are seeking inspiration, creative renewal, and a deeper connection with their artistic voice.
Whether you arrive feeling energized or creatively exhausted after a busy season, these two days offer space to reconnect with the reason you first fell in love with flowers.
You will leave with new design skills, renewed inspiration, meaningful connections, and a deeper understanding of how beauty can guide the creative process.
