For 10 years, my garden has been my sanctuary — the place where my creativity has taken root and grown. The flowers here have taught me everything I know about color, shape, movement, and texture. After many seasons of growing different blooms, poppies have become my favorite. They are full of graceful movement, striking beauty, and extraordinary color.
That is why the focus of this year’s spring workshop will be creating with poppies.
You will learn how to cut and process them to compose arrangements filled with softness and flow.
There is another gentle teacher in nature: the butterfly.
To deepen our inspiration, we will visit the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in Corral de Piedra ( 25 min away from my garden ), where these delicate creatures show us the quiet magic of gentleness.
A workshop honoring the artistry of spring: delicate florals, gentle colors, and the serene beauty of butterflies in flight, I invite you to join me create with intention and be restore by nature’s presence.

Program
Day 1 — Visit to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary
9:00 AM
We begin with a visit to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary in Corral de Piedra.
This day is dedicated to inspiration and observation. The hike takes approximately 1.5 hours uphill; however, if you prefer not to hike, a guided horseback ride is available.
We will spend the morning surrounded by the gentle beauty of the butterflies, taking time to absorb their presence. Afterward, we will return to the garden and enjoy a beautiful meal among the flowers.
This first day is entirely about receiving inspiration from nature.

Day 2 — Arranging with Poppies
Working with poppies is an art of softness and sensitivity.
10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Gabriela will begin with a demonstration, creating a composition with poppies and other spring florals. After the demonstration, students will cut their flowers in the garden, learn proper processing techniques, and create their own arrangements.
In the afternoon, we will explore how to create an editorial image and learn techniques for arranging with photography in mind.

Day 3 — The Perfect Spring Bouquet
This day focuses on constructing a romantic spring bouquet.
10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Gabriela will demonstrate her threading technique and guide you through designing a bouquet with movement and gentleness.
After lunch, Gabriela will lead a large-scale floral demonstration, teaching the use of branches, shape, and structure for impactful, spacious arrangements.
