10 years of Growing Dahlias  // A 2-day Garden Workshop at Valle de Bravo, Mexico

Come and celebrate with Gabriela a decade growing Dahlias in Valle de Bravo. Learn how these amazing flowers grow and how to express the traits of their lifecycle in your floral designs. 

Sept 11th  10:00 am to 4:30 pm

We will begin our day with a tour to the garden where Gabriela will share with you how she started her garden and how it has changed and shaped her floral journey. 

After the tour, Gabriela will demonstrate how she uses Dahlias to create a Large Scale piece full of texture and movement.  

Following the Demo, students will cut their own flowers to create a centerpiece  and get one-on-one input from Gabriela as she guides your individual floral style.

Special lunch will be served every day in the garden. After lunch we will style and photograph your arrangements for your portfolio.

Sept 12th, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm

Central to HEARTFELT FLORISTRY is the value of learning from each other. We will open this day with a group discussion to learn more about each other and our own floral journey.

Gabriela will demonstrate how she constructs a hand-tied  piece using dahlias. We will continue the day with a guided hands on for students to learn the threading technique Gabriela uses for a loose and romantic bouquet. 

The day’s discussion will be about making flowers a way of life and how growing a Dahlia garden has changed Gabrielas approach to floristry.

Transportation to-from airport/lodging is NOT included in the cost of the Garden Workshop. Please make your own travel arrangements using the following suggestions below as guidelines.

(Note: Cinco Rodavento can arrange transportation to and from the airport)

Flight:
Mexico City is the airport to arrive at.

Transportation from the airport:
Book a Taxi to come to Valle de Bravo or contact the hotels above for help with transportation (typical ground cost are between $125 - $250 USD one way)

Please note // the garden is a short drive from the above hotels. We will send cars to Cinco Rodavento each day to pick-up students.
